Together with Meneertje Doodle (my dear compagnion), I sketch freely, often starting with just a single word. Sometimes that word simply pops into my head, like coffee (an easy one, since I can’t live without it!) and other times it’s given to me by someone else or through a prompt. It feels wonderfully liberating not to aim for perfection, but to let the pen wander and see what happens.
Along the way, shapes and ideas appear that I could never have planned, and that’s what makes each doodle truly one of a kind.
Here you can see a few examples and what they eventually became.
